Walnut Wallpaper

Who would have thought that designer wall paper would make it into your baby's room?  Featured this month in Domino magazine (which does a feature on each room in the house), Walnut Wallpaper shows off its animal design prints. 

Here are our favorites...whales! Whales!  Whales!  And, Birds:).

Walnut opened in Hollywood in early 2005 with the goal of showcasing cutting edge wallpaper not found at typical retail wallcovering stores. Their second floor studio quickly gained an underground reputation as a one-stop-shop for hard to find designs from around the world. Gabbybaby reminds us of what our pediatrician said when we our daughter was born...., "A lot of people around you are going to suffer from verbal diarrhea....meaning a lot of people are going to say and tell you how to do a lot of stuff with your new baby....but they won't know what they are talking about....the best REAL advise taht they should give you is that..."you'll figure it out"...there's no new parent manual:).

Just featured on the Rachel Ray show....GabbyBaby was born out of the sheer amazement for the crazy and otherwise socially unacceptable things people do and say to someone with a new baby. While new parents would appreciate extra consideration for their sleep deprivation, instead they are often bombarded by strangers who grab their “oh so cute” baby by the hands (right before he sticks them in his mouth), followed by a slew of child-raising advice that was never solicited. On behalf of babies and parents everywhere, gabbybaby t’s & onesies speak to these “offenders,” offering the perfect way to politely, but firmly, ask people to mind their own business.

Discover Your Baby's Inner Chai

Inner Chai finds the perfect balance of Zen Themed designs crossed with super cute sayings.

Kristin Loffer

Extremely unique and cute crafty designs are very hard to find.  There are a handful of designers out there really garnering some much deserved attention.  We posted about one of our favorites last week (laurie marie).  This week, out of Washington State, we've choosen Kristin Loffer who's birds we absolutely love. 

She currently takes orders direct online through PayPal.   But, with all handmade crafty goods, supplies are limited!

Twilight Turtle - Star Filled Dreams

For new parents, nothing is as sweet as a good night sleep.   Twinkle, twinkle little star comes into your room just in time.  The Twilight Turtle by CloudB is the first constellation nightlight created that gently transforms your bedrooms and nurserys into wonder and stars at night.   

An ideal item for newborns (and up to age six), the Twilight Turtle calming light settings can be adjusted to display white, blue or green and times out after 45 mintues.  Babies are so much like sponges, taking in and sokaing in all stimuli.  Who knows, maybe your little one might become an astronaut?:).  We thought it would be fun to juxtapose this twilight turtle with a picture provided by NASA (from their Astronomy Picture of the Day).  The pictures from this website are truly amazing!!

We can't forget the sleep sheep:

Cloud B is based out of Southern California and specializes in expert designed sleep and educational toys.  One of their year round best sellers providing the perfect sleep aid is their Sleep Sheep (which has one several parenting awards).  The Sleep Sheep is designed to provide natural lullaby sounds to soothe baby to sleep. Ocean surf, springtime rain, a mother’s heartbeat, and whale sounds may be selected.

Pretty Little Things

One of our favorite find designers is Lori Marie (aka Pretty Little Things).  We discovered her from her Pottery Barn work, but she's gotten a huge boost from her recent appearance on Martha Stewart (1/16/07).  Her handcrafted designs are enchanting.  Our favorites are her sleepy owls and her dolls.

Now that she has been exposed on Martha Stewart....we're sure she's got more busy than she can handle! 

She even takes special design orders direct from her website!  We noticed that she's out of her owls and her dolls right now:(.  We'll keep our eyes out when they return!
